ISA Sign Code Champion

2020 Applications Now Closed

The application process will reopen January 2021.

ISA is searching for the next Sign Code Champion! This award recognizes individuals who have positively impacted the sign, graphics and visual communications industry through their work on developing positive sign codes. A Sign Code Champion is one who has gone “above and beyond” to help advance positive sign codes and communicate to local jurisdictions how visible and effective signs help promote safe and vibrant communities.

Who will be the Sign Code Champion for 2020? The winner will be announced at ISA International Sign Expo® 2020.

Individuals can be self-nominated or nominated by someone else (ISA member or non-member). Nominations are due by February 7, 2020.

Grand Prize: One (1) round-trip airfare for winner to Orlando, FL USA during ISA International Sign Expo 2020 (value must not exceed $750); one (1) hotel room for three (3) nights during ISA Sign Expo 2020; one (1) education package registration to ISA Sign Expo 2020; recognition at ISA Sign Expo 2020; and spotlighted in an ISA press release. Approximate Retail Value (ARV) USD $1,750. Any upgrades or modification to the standard features of this offer are the sole expense of the winner. Odds of winning depend on the total number of valid entries received. Cash value may not be selected as an alternate award under this promotion. Additional prizes may be awarded as necessary.

Winner will be notified the week of February 17, 2020 via phone and/or email and will be selected by the ISA Public Affairs Committee and ISA Steering Committees and not by a random drawing or other element of chance. Applicants will be considered and judged on how their efforts further reasonable and beneficial sign codes, and the effectiveness of these efforts.

Only open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia and Canada and are 21 years of age or older. If the individual is within the sign, graphics and visual communications industry, they must be a current ISA member. If the individual is part of an allied stakeholder (i.e. government agency, chamber of commerce, planning authority, etc.) ISA membership is not required. Only sign code efforts done within the past three years (since January 1, 2017) will be recognized. Employees, officers and representatives (and members of their immediate families and those living in the same household of each) of ISA are not eligible. Promotion is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
