Intro to Signage

Signs play a critical role in a business's success by helping that business communicate their presence, branding and on-premise messages. But how is that sign created? What are the different types of signs available to a business? This course provides an overview of the different services and departments that exist within a sign, graphics and visual communications company and their role in creating a sign. You will also gain foundational knowledge of the various sign types and how they are used.

Intro to Applications

Many of today's signs and graphics are produced using films backed with pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA, for short). Understanding these materials, their applications and finishing technologies are key to a successful end product and critical to achieving profitability. This course will teach you about the different film types, questions to ask and resources available as well as the different considerations for various applications from windows to walls to vehicles.

Intro to Wide Format Print

Wide format printing has evolved significantly in the past few years. Everything from retail signage and graphics to banners to building wraps to vehicle wraps and more are printed using wide format printers. But how does the process work? What are the market areas? This courses provides foundational knowledge of the wide format printing process, the inkjet technologies and insight into the market areas.

Sign Installer's Guide: Freestanding Signs

This course introduces the basic information you’ll need to know to install freestanding signs. The course will consist of six (6) independent modules:

Freestanding Sign Types and Characteristics
Sign Foundation Types and Installation (Part I)
Sign Foundation Types and Installation (Part II)
Bolted Connections
Field-Welding Practices, Symbols and Notations
Single-Pole Sign Structure Safety

Sign Installer's Guide: Special Installations

This course introduces the basic information you’ll need to know for special installations such as roof-mounted signs and mansard roof signs. It also features three case studies of advanced level projects. The course will consist of three (3) independent modules:

Sign Installer's Guide: Wall Signs
