Fort Collins, Colo., Proposes New EMC Regulations

Fort Collins, Colo., Proposes New EMC Regulations

On Nov. 17, the Fort Collins, Colo., Planning and Zoning Board held a public hearing on new regulations for electronic message displays. ISA’s James Carpentier testified before city officials, along with a member of the Colorado Sign Association. ISA testified in disagreement with the following proposed rules for electronic message centers: 19 mm maximum pixel spacing, and the proposal that all EMCs be monochrome in amber, green, blue, red or white. While the Planning and Zoning Board unanimously recommended approval of the 19 mm maximum pixel spacing and the monochrome color requirements, the Fort Collins City Council is holding an additional hearing on the proposed changes on Tuesday.
