Sign Biz® Member Steps Up to Serve

Clearwater, FL (November 17, 2010) – The newly elected members of the International Sign Association (ISA) Board of Directors begin their terms as of January 2011. A Board position representing the Digital Sign Division, one of 26 seats, has been filled by a member of the Sign Biz Network since 2002. This is a network of 200 eco-digital sign companies launched with the services of Sign Biz, Inc., a business development company located in Dana Point, CA.

Most recently, the three-year term on ISA’s Board was completed by Fred Barbaria, owner of Santa Barbara Signs & Graphics, a Sign Biz member in California. When new term nominations were sought, Michael Quigley of Sign-Age of Tampa Bay, Inc., examined the responsibility carefully. “When I commit to something, I give it 110%, so this was no light decision,” he explains.

“There was no master plan to place members of our organization on the Board,” explains Teresa M. Young, President/CEO of Sign Biz, Inc., who held the seat when it first became available in 2002. “It just happened that our business owners are the type to recognize how their involvement helps everyone in the digital sector. Not to mention, they are very proficient in this arena as entrepreneurs, and fully understand the unique challenges faced by digital sign companies.”

Quigley was certainly an ideal candidate for this important Board seat. He served in an advisory capacity for eight years prior to joining Sign-Age full time 12 years ago. Sign-Age operates from a 4500 square foot facility located in Clearwater, Florida and serves local, regional and national clients.

As a full time Sign-Age employee, Mike first served a Marketing / Sales Manager before assuming his current role as Vice President of Operations. In addition, he is the face of Sign-Age in a number of professional and community organizations. Notably, he presently serves on the Board of the American Advertising Federation-Tampa Bay and the Staff Parish Committee at his church.

In addition, like many in the digital sign industry, Quigley has worked side by side with his wife of 24 years, Linda Levitan, founder of Sign-Age. They are empty nesters with four adult children and two grandchildren.
The first meeting for new Board members takes place February 3 at 2:00.

“I know that Michael’s experience and integrity provides an excellent foundation to support the mission of ISA,” Young explains.
