Reining in Regulations

Reining in Regulations

In January 2011, President Barack Obama issued an executive order calling for a governmentwide review of federal regulations, with the goal of removing outdated red tape that stifles job creation and economic growth. The first step in the review process has so far found many needless or duplicative federal regulations among several federal agencies. ISA supports efforts to help foster a robust and growing domestic manufacturing sector, including the pursuit of a strategy that reduces the regulatory burden on sign companies. That’s why ISA is a leading member and an active participant in several small-business-oriented coalitions that work to increase policymakers’ understanding of the critical role that manufacturing plays in our economy. ISA will continue to meet and work with key officials in the Environmental Protection Agency, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Department of Transportation and other federal agencies to promote a positive manufacturing agenda with the administration and the 112th Congress.
