Ken Von Wald Presented Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award
Alexandria, VA – April 22, 2017 — Ken Von Wald, president and CEO of Denco Sales in Denver, was presented the Kirk L. Brimley Distinguished Service Award at ISA International Sign Expo 2017. The International Sign Association presents the award each year to a leader who has made significant contributions to the sign, graphics and visual communications industry.

Von Wald was honored for his service to ISA, the Sign Research Foundation (SRF) and the National Association of Sign Supply Distributors (NASSD), all of which he served as board chair. Von Wald also participated in numerous ISA committees and continues to be an active presence and advisor. His tenure as board chair at each association was marked by significant restructuring and realignment, which allowed each to grow significantly while enhancing contributions to the broader industry.
“Ken has devoted many hours to helping the industry excel,” said ISA Chairman of the Board Jeff Young, who presented the award to Von Wald at a special reception. “His leadership of ISA laid the groundwork for ISA to be the strong, relevant organization it is today. Thanks to his commitment, the professionalism of those who work in the sign, graphics and visual communications industry has increased through education. Advocacy on behalf of the industry has led to a greater respect for our products and services.”
Von Wald noted that serving in volunteer capacities for organizations like ISA, SRF and NASSD was an investment of time, but one that paid off in his own professional development. “My skills were enhanced through involvement in ISA,” Von Wald said. “In a small business, you can make decisions and go forward. Serving on ISA taught me to think through complex issues in a more inclusive manner and on a broader scale. That’s something I still use within my business.”
